This may gross you out

I know this may gross you out, but it’s real life and a small glimpse of how these kids suffer. Remember the story I just shared about this little boy we found in the dumpster? He had been living on trash and was miraculously reunited with his brothers in the orphanage after 6 months of being separated, but couldn’t speak because his mouth is covered in sores and fungus from eating trash for so long? If you haven’t read the story, you can read it on the Nov. 23 post on Facebook. Anyway, we just received a call from Keny in Peru. Nicoli was having a hard time eating and had a lot of pain on one side of his mouth. Even with the treatment he’s been receiving, he was still in pain. Keny took a closer look and discovered that on one side of his mouth maggots were pushing through the skin. He rushed him to the hospital and they revealed that deep in his skin and down his jaw bone in to his neck is completely infested with maggots. It’s from living in filth and eating from the trash for so long. The hospital wouldn’t even offer him any treatment until we paid $300. At this moment, Juan rushed money to Western Union to pay the hospital so Nicoli could receive treatment.

Can you imagine? I’m horrified that this child has been suffering like this in his short life span of 4 years. Your giving helps us meet these urgent needs. We go day by day trusting the Lord to provide. We need your help to rescue and care for children like Nicoli. They deserve to have someone who will fight for them. Will you join me?
