Chasing Chickens

So, today Marshall and I ventured to the market to purchase alfalfa for our livestock. While there we decided to pick up another hen. On our way home we needed to make another stop, however, this stop happened to be in a little mall. When we returned to the car, the hen had made it out of the burlap bag she was in, thus exiting the car when Marshall opened the door. We spent the next 15 minutes chasing a chicken through the mall parking lot. YES, we were THOSE gringos today. To say the least it was quite a show for all the local Ecuadorians watching the two of us chase a chicken. Never a dull moment.

(No, we didn’t butcher the chicken after the chase. This pic happens to be of a woman at the market selling freshly killed chickens…on top of a trash can.)
