Rescue a Child

A gift so small

You need to read this story! It’s so humbling and helps to keep things in to perspective.  See the large floor fan in the picture?

We took this fan to this coastal village church whom now work with in an effort to care for severely impoverished children. The church is nothing more than tin, bamboo, and dirt. It is an extremely poor community that lost everything in the earthquake.  When we arrived with this fan the people began to weep. Weep. The children came running in when they heard the sound of the fan. They sat in front of it and began to cry. It is incredibly hot there. I mean HOT and humid. I personally don’t like extreme heat like this and seriously have to keep my attitude in check because it tends to make me feel annoyed! Anyone else like that? So, this experience was another reminder for me that in all circumstances be grateful because someone else’s suffering is far greater. There is no where to go for relief – they don’t have fans in their homes, let alone air conditioners. Can you imagine how miserable that can be? And just because they live in it doesn’t mean they have become numb to it and it doesn’t bother them. It does! They are baking inside of that little metal roof church. But they are faithful to be there to hear the Word of God because they are desperate and hungry to know Him. That fan was overwhelming to them and they cried and out loud thanked the Lord for loving them so much to send such a gift.

Can you imagine? The silly things we complain about and make excuses for of not being “comfortable.” Can you imagine what it sounds like in God’s ears?
We are now working with these precious children who are in dire need. There are children within this community who are literally starving. Within the next few weeks we will have sponsorship opportunities for you to choose a child and become their lifeline. Your giving is doing so much more than you could ever imagine. Until we have the child sponsorships ready, we really could use your help to continue to take relief supplies to these children. Our goal is for the children to come after school each day to receive a small meal and to be discipled so that they can grow in the love of Christ. What a huge difference it would make in their lives! You can help make it happen and bring so much hope to them.

THANK YOU for helping us to share the love of Jesus with His hurting children. Please pray for our team as we diligently work to help rescue these children. Also, please pray that others may respond to their cries for help and will provide us with the opportunity to change their lives for the better. God bless you!

You can help bring urgent relief to their lives now!
